Calendar of Events Saturday, August 7th Green Iowa Americorps Weatherization Bi-lingual Workshop 11:00 AM – 4:00 PM Harvest Vinyard Church 715 East 4th Street Waterloo, IA  Green Iowa AmeriCorps’ Weatherization Workshop will be bilingual on Saturday, August 7.  The workshop will begin at 11 a.m. at Harvest Vineyard Church at 715 East 4th Street, Waterloo, IA and continue at a local residence around noon until about 4 p.m. The non-profit has translated their materials into Spanish and will be working with Harvest Vineyard Church to educate the Hispanic community about energy-saving techniques, why energy conservation matters, and how weatherization reduces energy use and utility bill costs. This hands-on learning experience will include identifying areas where air leaks from the house along with sealing these spots by caulking, applying weather stripping, and more. Volunteers, ages 13 and older, are needed and can sign up ahead of time or walk in the day of.
